The Historical Orientation and Civilization Logic of the Chinese Modernization  Liu Mei 2022, 56 (9):  5-13.  Abstract ( )   PDF (5394KB) ( )   The conception and construction of the new road of Chinesestyle modernization do not follow the old western modernization path of “great power competition” and “great power hegemony”. It draws a blueprint for the common destiny of mankind in the cause of world history development, and demonstrates the missionary view of a great power that emphasizes both universal common development and liberation and individual development. The exploration of the new road of Chinesestyle modernization has gone through a development process from forced transplantation to active reform and transformation and then to independent exploration and construction. In accordance with the overall development law of world history, it not only promotes the historical process of human liberation, but also strengthens the historical consciousness of maintaining human development through interaction and alliance between major countries, thereby advancing the world history towards a new modernization of diversified and open development. Taking mutual learning and development of civilizations as the internal driving force for selfconstruction, the new road of Chinesestyle modernization has explored the theoretical essence of “clash of civilizations” and “superiority of civilizations”, committed to realizing the requirements of allround and balanced modernization and development, led the world modernization towards a new form of human civilization featuring “harmony and coexistence”, and demonstrated that the process of human civilization has shifted from passive international integration to independent innovation and deep integration of human civilization as a whole and that of individuals. The Spiritual Quality of “Persistence” in the Historical Experience of the Communist Party of China's Centurylong Struggle Shen Chengfei, Jin Tao 2022, 56 (9):  14-25.  Abstract ( )   PDF (8290KB) ( )   In the course of the centurylong struggle of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the spiritual quality of “persistence” is a unique spiritual strength. Throughout the course of Chinas revolution, development and reform, this spirit has been reflected in the CPC's relentless efforts to achieve the set goals, and its clearheaded unremitting efforts to promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. In examining the successful experience of the CPC's centurylong struggle, the spiritual quality of “persistence” is the ideological basis for the realization of historical experience, and the spiritual resource for accomplishing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Looking back on the CPC's centurylong struggle, concerning why, what and how it persists, it is not only the history of the development of the Party's practical movement, but also the tracing of its political quality. It is a vivid demonstration of the Party's indomitable spirit that no matter how powerful the enemy, how difficult the journey, or how grave the challenges, the Party has never lost heart or backed down, and never hesitated to make necessary sacrifices. Key Breakthrough Paths of Digital Technology Enabling the Highquality Development of Manufacturing in China Jia Lijun, Chen Hengxuan 2022, 56 (9):  26-39.  Abstract ( )   PDF (9766KB) ( )   Manufacturing is the foundation of a country's national strength. Its highquality development is highly related to national core competitiveness and security. Based on the perspective of product innovation, this paper indicates that the foundation of all industrial revolutions has always been manufacturing. This historical law presents new characteristics in the era of digital economy: the digital transformation of manufacturing highlights the strategic position of digital capital goods, relies more on industryspecific practices in production, and requires integration and integrity for independent R&D. This determines the dual mission for the highquality development of China's manufacturing: it is necessary, on the one hand, to strengthen independent R&D of digital capital goods, and on the other hand, to complete the digital transformation of traditional manufacturing. A breakthrough path is to make them coordinated with each other, promoting major engineering construction and products' technological innovation, advancing the comprehensive, coordinated and independent innovation in manufacturing, while realizing the localization and diversification of manufacturing innovation. The Crisis of US Neoliberalism and the Risk of Current Economic Stagflation: From the Perspective of Social Structure of Accumulation Theory Ding Xiaoqin, Luo Zhihong 2022, 56 (9):  40-52.  Abstract ( )   PDF (9058KB) ( )   Based on the Social Structure of Accumulation (SSA) theory, this paper analyzes the two major manifestations of US neoliberalism (liberalization and financialization) from the perspective of domestic SSA. Liberalization is manifested in the relaxation of the control on capitalists and the weakening of the influence of trade unions, while financialization is reflected as the economic “departure from the real to the virtual” and the continuous financial deepening, which not only bring profit growth to capitalism, but also greatly exacerbate economic risks and social polarization between the rich and the poor. From the perspective of international SSA, the US is facing problems such as the weakening of dollar hegemony, the shrinking of military hegemony, and the challenges of emerging and developing countries such as China. Given the US has limited ability to respond to these challenges after the outbreak of COVID19, the current inflation in the US is likely to further evolve into an economic “stagflation”. The risk of “stagflation” currently facing the US economy is an outcome of the longterm accumulative contradictions of the neoliberal SSA under the impact of the epidemic, and also of the irreconcilable inherent contradictions of the capitalist mode of production. With the increase in the possibility that the risk of “stagflation” in the US will turn into a crisis, the neoliberal SSA dominated by the US is likely to come to an end and a new SSA will gradually be established. Value Extraction without Accumulation: The Crisis and Enlightenment of US Corporate Shareholder Governance System Jia Genliang, Li Jiarui 2022, 56 (9):  53-66.  Abstract ( )   PDF (9855KB) ( )   As the leading management paradigm in the US, shareholder primacy has caused a disconnect between corporate profit margins and the rate of accumulation, leading to a longterm economic stagnation of “prosperity without investment”. Influenced by the principle of “shareholder value maximization”, American listed companies now show distinct characteristics of deaccumulation. The value extraction method represented by stock repurchase and stock dividend aims to expand financial returns, undermining the industrial capital accumulation process of “retainandreinvest”. Based on the growth dynamics of the stock market, enterprises are forced to become shortsighted, which intensifies the speculative nature of investment decisionmaking by managers. Large corporations sit back taking no notice of the decline of their internal innovation capacity, and maintain their market position by monopoly rents. As a key microcomposition of the neoliberal social structure of accumulation (SSA) in the United States, the shareholder governance model takes advantage of the characteristics of innovative activities to capture the social benefits originally belonging to the government and laborers, exposing the exploitative and parasitic nature of the capitalist mode of production.  Related Articles | Metrics

It is a multifaceted problem and, as a result, has also caused some debate. “The embarrassing position of having to discuss what is known as material interests” was initially addressed in the Marx's Critique of Hegel's Philosophy of Right, while the solution of the “general problem” continued until Marx obtained the “general result”. All parties are still struggling to explore the road to revitalize socialism in the 21st century despite the adversity, carry out an overall peaceful “weak resistance” against the current political system and government internally, and bring China's vision in alignment with their goals externally. Though some parties have achieved a few results in some specific areas and levels, their overall goals have not been achieved. The main cause lies in the constraints of the objective environment, and there are also many major problems in the subjective aspect.
