Define the Concept in the Process of Globalization Movement ZHANG Kang-Zhi 2015, 49 (10):  5-13.  DOI: Abstract ( )   PDF (6400KB) ( )   In 1980s，we human beings stepped into a process of postindustrialization and globalization，which is a great historic social movementHowever，there are a large number of misunderstandings about globalization as a concept and a movement These misunderstandings not only distort the globalization movement itself，but also give rise to many antiglobalization movements. In order to lead globalization into sound development，it is necessary to define globalization precisely and concisely. We argue that globalization is a new social movement starting in the postindustrial process，which is essentially different from the universalization of capitalism in the industrial society in terms of its nature and goal. The universalization of capitalism has generated a global coreperiphery structure，while the globalization is a process to break this coreperiphery structure and to build an equal world.   Related Articles | Metrics

However，many researchers have traced globalization back to the modern history or earlier，even it is argued that the whole history of human beings can be named globalization. These misinterpretations would not only affect our understanding of globalization negatively，but also hinder our efforts to take reasonable actions in the era of globalization and even might make us give up the effort to deal with challenges of globalization through innovations of thinking and action. Historically，it is the global consciousness emerging in the mid20th century that gave rise to the generation of globalization as a concept and a movement as well. Technological innovations in the 20th century，implying a trend of decentralization，accumulated into qualitative change in the late 20th.
