On the Demonstration Effect of China Road to the Developing Countries CHEN Xue-Ming, CHEN Yue 2014, 48 (2):  5-14.  DOI: Abstract ( )   PDF (2136KB) ( )   China Road has been taking part in the creation of “world history”in its own way and therefore shows a positive demonstration effect to the developing countries around the world. China Road has set a practical example for an economically and culturally underdeveloped country that relied mostly on agriculture to embark on a journey to modernization. China Road could be utilized by other developing countries, which take up about 3 quarters of the world population, for their transformation to modernized countries. However, the analysis and critique does not grasp the nature of the crises in the western countries, on the other hand the negative effect of the welfare systems has been magnified, and it will undoubtedly bring erroneous guidance and disturbance for the way to social development with the focus on improving peoples livelihood in China. The crises nature and roots should be analyzed profoundly and the experiences of social welfare development should be generalized with theoretical consciousness in the study of the social welfare theory and policy. In the comparison of background and logic diversities of social welfare reform between China and the western countries, the errors should be clarified, and it has contributed to exploring the welfare mode of social development which is appropriated for China national conditions.
