After the Cold War, International Relation(IR) research in Central and Eastern Eu- rope has gradually gotten rid of the influence from the theoretical framework of Soviet Union and has become an independent discipline separated from the discipline of political science. Most of the achievements of International Relation(IR) research in Central and Eastern Europe are de- scriptive, the research method is positivism, IR research in Central and Eastern Europe concen- trates on several areas, such as international sociology, foreign policy and geopolitics, etc.. However, Political interference in academics, lack of theoretical foundation, small scale of the discipline, low degree of internationalization and deficient in academic standard lead to the limita- tion of development of Central and Eastern European IR discipline.
