On the Contribution of Peasants to Construction of New China for 60 Years
    KONG Xiang-zhi, HE An-hua
    2009, (9):  5-13.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2313KB) ( )
Since the founding of new China 60 years ago,the Chinese peasants have made tremendous contribution to the industrialization and urbanization of the country.Their contribution is mainly manifested in the following ways: accumulating assets and lowering the cost for industrialization characterized as "high-price industrial commodity for low-price agricultural product",and supplying sufficient and cheap labor and farmland to meet the needs for development of industry.A rough estimation reveals that the assets the Chinese peasants have accumulated for the country in these ways alone can amount to at least 17.3 thousand billion Yuan.In return, the country should establish a long-term mechanism in line with the principle of "offering more, taking less, being flexible" in order to realize the policies of promoting agriculture through industry and improving the rural area through efforts of the urban area.

    GAO Fan
    2009, (9):  14-20.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1619KB) ( )
"Giving first priority to agriculture" is an inevitable choice of policy in the new era for China constructing harmonious society.Considering the complex and interwoven nature of the issue of "peasants, rural area and agriculture",the peasants’ sustainable income growth can be seen as the key to solving the three problems concerning agriculture and actualizing the policy of "giving first priority to agriculture".The author maintains that this policy of agriculture should be localized and oriented to increased income of the peasants. And it is with the peasants’ increased spontaneous capacity that their income growth can be sustainable.

    Postmodernist Image of Marx
    YU Nai-zhong
    2009, (9):  45-50.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1435KB) ( )
As a discourse for the crisis of capitalism and the crisis of aesthetics in the west, postmodernism has become the spirit of the time. The modern thought represented by the enlightenment and rationalism has become oblivious in history.Likewise,Marxism, the theory of the proletarian revolution and communism, will be fiercely attacked by representatives of postmodernism too,as it is also the product of rationalism. However, while postmodernist theorists defame Marx, they are not able to escape the influence of Marx.

The Trap of Text Pragmatism:A Critique of Textual Analysis of Analytical Marxism
    CAO Yu-tao
    2009, (9):  51-55.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1292KB) ( )
Analytical Marxism employs analytical philosophy to study texts of Marxism, striving to achieve clear narration and sound logic in order to restructure Marxist theories. However,as they deny dialectics, they focus only on analysis and neglect integration, and thus view Marxist ideas in the light of dogmatism and pragmatism.Even rhetoric in the texts is ignored. As a consequence of this non-dialectic and non-historical textual interpretation, they are trapped by "text pragmatism".This is the fundamental reason why they should have misunderstood Marxism. It is also a lesson we should take when we study texts of Marxism.

A Preliminary Study of Mechanism of Energy Cooperation in SCO
    CHEN Xiao-qin
    2009, (9):  56-61.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1063KB) ( )
With the further progress of globalization of energy, the study of new relationship between energy producing countries and energy consuming countries becomes one of the hot research themes. Now,a series of striking large scale transportation schema and energy schema are being carried out within SCO.Since these schema are all confined to bilateral cooperation, one of the goals of the proposed Energy Club is to provide opportunities for multilateral energy cooperation among SCO members.Due to the complexity of the climate of energy cooperation within the SCO,proper approaches to normalization and systemization of equal dialogue and communication are being explored with the intention to establish a valid coordination mechanism to clarify the right and responsibility of each party. The author concludes that this is not only the needs of SCO to reinforce its function, but is also the right and inevitable choice to meet the needs of maintaining common energy security and to promote common economic interests of relevant countries.

    YAN Jing
    2009, (9):  70-78.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2302KB) ( )
The direct origin of the Frankfurt school’s IR critical theory is the Frankfurt critical social theory.Major IR theorists in the early 1980s were heavily influenced by this thought.Although this school of thought no longer stands for the most important challenge to the mainstream IR theories,it is still among the most influential schools of positivist theories.Up till now,the research themes of that school is of a large scope. This paper attempts to offer a discussion of the development of the Frankfurt school in IR from the normative, sociological and praxeological domains. The general theoretical route of that school is to maintain the features of universalism and explore new forms of political community by analyzing such themes as exclusion, discourse, difference, suffer and harm.

    JIA Jun-min
    2009, (9):  85-90.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (860KB) ( )
Since the implementation of the reform and open-up policies researches on farmers’ cooperative economic organization have been prosperous and adopted various approaches.Among the theoretical researches are both historical reflection on what had happened in China and references to theoretical and practical studies abroad. On the basis of these studies,a general framework of Chinese farmers’ cooperative economic organization is restructured.Empirical researches,on the other hand, have extended from case studies and regional studies to holistic studies.Though there has already appeared a tendency of integration, the two approaches are still in most cases used separately. The need for further integration is at hand.
