Dialectic Analysis of Dominent Value and Mainstream Value——With Respect to Changes in the Mainstream Value since the Reform and Implementation of Open-up Policy
    LIAO Xiao-ping
    2008, (8):  11-16.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1023KB) ( )
For a long time people tend to consider the dominent value and the mainstream value as the same. However, these two concepts are fundamentally different. The dominent value refers to the value that takes the dominant position, and may perform the leading, guiding and normalizing functions to other values. The mainstream value,on the other hand, refers to the value held by the majority in a society or the value that more or less conforms to various other values. The author maintians that distinguishing these two may shed light on scientific analysis and observation of the changes in the Chinese social values since the reform and implementation of the open-up policy.Methodologically speaking, this is of great significance. In other words, changes in the Chinese social values in the process of reform and opening up to the outside world is in essence the changes in the mainstream value, not the dominent value.

Reconsiderations in the Principle of Negation of Negation
    YANG Geng
    2008, (8):  17-22.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1712KB) ( )
The principle of negation of negation does not refer to the natural development stages of three related objects. It refers to an inevitable couse and tendency of development in which things develop from the form of potential contradiction to extention of contradiction,to a stage of intensified contradictions, and then to a stage of resolution of contraditions which,in turn, gives rise to new things. The principle of negation of negation is expressed in negative dialectics and in terms of the rise and renounce of alienation in human history. To be specific,it means reconstruction of personal ownership and individualized person on the basis of "the achievement of the capitalist ara" and "public ownership of productive materials".Negative dialectics has been developed in man’s practical experience in which the idea of dialectic negation is implied. The dialectic negation of Marx is based on the concept of practice and is integrated with historical materialsm. Thus it is diffeent from the dialectic negation of Hegel, nor is it the same with Adorno’s dialectic negation.

    QIU Geng-tian
    2008, (8):  23-28.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (878KB) ( )
The scientific concept of development is of a theoretical system that consists of an integration of ontology of development, value of development, methodology of development, and cost of development. In the domain of cost theory, the scientific concept of development is highly concerned with the cost, which requires that a sense of cost be fostered and strengthened in the course of scientific development.Active regulation of cost is recommended, and prevention of transfer of the cost is a key issue. To apply the scientific concept of development,it is imperative to change the high-cost mode of development to the low-cose mode of development by adherring to the principle of low-cost development.

Construct of the Overall Reform Plan of Government Regulation System:from the Perspective of International Experience
ZHANG Hong-feng, YANG Hui, LÜ Shao-hua
    2008, (8):  29-37.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1791KB) ( )
This paper discusses the regulation reform in China against a background of regulation reform in western countries.Up till now,the economic regulation reform has followed a course of regulation—lessened regulation—regulation and lessened regulation. The social regulation reform,on the other hand, shows a course of continued tightening since the 1960s.The authors maintain that China should draw lessons from the mature experience of the west in terms of the overall planning with respect to the course, the manners, the motives and the basis of regulation reform in order to construct the Chinese regulation reform plan from the perspectives of economics, politics, and administrative law.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (1316KB) ( )
Ideology is defined as a set of beliefs about the world.Analysis of a sample of 21 developed countries reveals that there exists significant correlation between ideology of a country and its ownership structure of enterprises. The authors find out that balance is achieved between the left-wing ideology and centralized ownership structure, and between the right-wing ideology and dispersed ownership structure.Due to the existence of systemic complemantrity, these two types of balance are highly stable.

The Theory of Hegemony of Laclau and Mouffe
    YANG Hai-feng
    2008, (8):  44-51.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1232KB) ( )
Hegemony is a basic concept of the radical democratic politics of Laclau and Mouffe in the post-modernist history.Through critique of orthodox essentialism, they transformed Gramsci’s idea of hegemony into a relation of multiple determination and of links at the level of discourse game. This is a relation of displacement in place meant to facilitate intensified antagonism. They believe that only with such a link of hegemony can freedom, equality and autonomy of the subjects involved in struggles be pledged. Then, the ideal of radical democratic socialism will be realized.

Evolution of Collective Action Mechanism:from Individual Rationality to Social Capital
    GAO Chun-ya
    2008, (8):  78-82.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (942KB) ( )
With the development of social division, the interdependence between group members is becoming stronger, which makes it necessary for people to achieve common interest through collective choice. In the eyes of the theory of collective action, common interest is not sufficient condition for voluntary cooperation, and the free-riding will lead to voluntary failure. From the view of the theory of social capital, the decision-making of group members is not an economic process of calculation between cost and benefit, but a social process which is affected by non-economic incentive. The trust resulting from interactions can check the motive of free-riding,creating favorable condition for collective action.
