An Analysis of Restrictive Factors In Transition of Dual Economic Structure Prompted by Industrialization
    ZENG Yin-chu
    2006, (8):  5-12.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (704KB) ( )
This paper attempts to elaborate on the assumed condition of the model of dual economic development. It analyzes the major restrictive factors in the transition of the dual economic structure in terms of selection of types of technical advancement, expansion of needs, restrictions on resources and environment, extroverted economic development and so on in the process of industrialization. The results show that the essential idea of classical model of dual economic development that emphasizes transfer of laborers to explain the influence of industrialization on dual structure is still applicable for the Chinese economy. But the assumed condition needs extending.Given the economic environment and historical stage,China should at least add into our consideration factors that restrict selection of path of industrialization such as influence of the demands in the market, open economy, and environmental capacity of resources on the transition of dual structure.

Reflections on Construction of the New Countryside in the Light of Political Economics
    YANG Si-yuan, RONG Xiang-Ping
    2006, (8):  13-19.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (902KB) ( )
The paper discusses the construction of a new countryside by referring to political economics.Four points are made: First, the peasants are the principal part of constructing the socialist new countryside, for it is the peasants who are to implement the policies made by the government which function as the external conditions.Secondly,to build the socialist new countryside we must stick to cooperative economy as the basis.Neither the smallholder economy nor the collective economy can fulfill this responsibility.Thirdly, the major task of constructing the new countryside is not development of agriculture, nor is it supplementing agriculture with industry.Instead, the major task is to develop industry in the rural area so that we may resort to industry for agricultural progress.Fourth, the point of departure for constructing the socialist new countryside is civilization of the countryside, with the ultimate goal being civilization of the towns. It is important to be aware that even a humanistic prospect of the countryside cannot fully meet the desire of millions of peasants for the civilization of the modern city.

    SUN Wei-ping
    2006, (8):  35-41.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1269KB) ( )
As a subjective being,no one is isolated from or unrelated to others;on the contrary, every one exists as a social being. In the process of social interaction, value relations among different value subjects are established based on the same value object. In other words, value is marked with inter-subjectivity.These inter-subjectivity of value reflect the mutual function and influence, interdependence and mutual control among subjects at a time when the scope of communication is enlarged, social dependence is strengthened, and human relations become more complicated.Under such social circumstances, people make value selections and decisions not only from the point of view of themselves, but also from the perspective of inter-subject relation inter-subjectivity to consider values. In this way, various value problems in theories and practice encountered can be solved through communication, dialogue and cooperation among the subjects.

On the Relation between Formal and Informal Systems
    CUI Wan-tian, ZHOU Ye-xin
    2006, (8):  42-48.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1091KB) ( )
The author holds that the formal system and the informal system represent the two inseparable component parts of the system.Unlike the formal system, the informal system is spontaneous, not compelled, extensive and persistent. The relation between the formal and informal systems is an interactive and harmonious one.On the one hand, the informal system may provide impetus for the formal one, while the formal one performs a supportive function for the informal one to stay alive and to be improved. On the other hand, the formal system must aim at the same objective with the informal one so as to remain steady and consistent.

    LU Ke-jian
    2006, (8):  83-90.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2432KB) ( )
This paper discusses the studies on the intellectual relationship between young Marx and young Engels by Marxologists abroad.Terrell Carver,a well-known British Marxologist, compared the courses of intellectual development of Marx and Engels and concluded that the idea of young Engels was more advanced than that of young Marx.Wataru Hiromatsu,a famous Japanese Marxologist, studied The German Ideology and claimed that it was young Engels who had guided the growth of young Marx.Marxologists like Rigby and others also maintained that young Engels had had great influence over young Marx.Based on the findings of these studies, the author points out that the discussions of the intellectual relationship between young Marx and young Engels is of significance. However, the extreme view held by Hiromatsu does not seem to be well-grounded.
