Philosophic Analysis of Prescriptions in Economic Areas
    WANG Feng-ming
    2006, (7):  35-40.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2242KB) ( )
Three points are made in this paper.(1)To Marx, the economic areas are prescribed in form. This prescription of form is perceived as essential in the social productive relation and economic relation derived by means of materials prescribed as matter.(2)As the essential relation and the essential prescription are embodied in the form of material existence, signs of the matter are demonstrated. Therefore, each existence and prescription of form may cover or even reverse the essential relation and the essential prescription.(3)If the material prescription and the essential prescription are not properly distinguished, the essence of economic areas will be interpreted as its natural material existence with a material prescription, resulting in various concepts of "fetishism".

Politics that Returns to the Life World
    YANG Xiao-dong
    2006, (7):  41-45.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (873KB) ( )
Political life as an expression of meaning of life can be traced back to ancient times.Generally speaking,specific,one-sided and narrow understanding of politics comes from the extension of instrumental rationality to politics.Consequently, political life becomes specialized and the value rationality of politics is neglected, resulting in deviation of political activities from life. This deviation posed obstacles for development of human beings and the society as well. With the passage of time and progress of the society, reexamination of politics is of important theoretical and practical significance.Considering the fact that the ancient city-states in Greece had regarded that politics and human life were related,it is possible to get politics to return to the life world. This offers a new way to break the fossilized understanding of politics.Following this train of thought, seeking for value rationality of political activities and making politics part of life may enhance the meaning of politics. In fact, the value of politics as a pattern of life not only raises the meaning of life in expressing human nature and human life style, but also functions as a basis for reinforcing democracy in social life and promoting harmonious development of the society.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (2043KB) ( )
Since the 1980s,studies of modern Chinese history have been developing along a dual course of institutionalized and academic progress and have proved to be a prominent rising discipline in the studies of Chinese history.Viewed from the perspective of academic history, development of this discipline has undergone remarkable changes. The dimension of the studies has changed from studying the general history to studying specific historical topics;the focus has changed from macro-narration of events to empirical analysis of cases. These changes are indicated by the recent researches of the Chinese history during the Cold War,the history of the(people’s)commune, the "Great Leap Forward",academic compounding and so on.At present, these studies are not without limitations, such as in cognition of the characteristics of the discipline, the access to historical resources, construction of historical conception and methodology, study of "fragment pieces",dual studies and so on.The author maintains that future researches will address these problems and promote cooperation among different offices and groups to push the studies forward.
