On Social Reconstruction of Contemporary Concept of Subject
    LIU Sen-lin
    2005, (2):  5-12.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2946KB) ( )
That subjectivity is a basic idea in Marxist philosophy is questionable and needs to be analyzed. Marx had questioned the internal tendency of contemporary theory of subject and the idea of considering the subject as having grown up from inside. He advocated a re-analysis of the construct and operation of subject against a social background. In his opinion, analyses of the social world and of the subject were closely related, with the subject associated with a practical population it belonged to. The contribution of Marx in this respect, the author points out, lies in the fact that this concept still performs the function of promoting maturity of the rational and paving the way for an ideal objective, and the function of establishing social objectives. The author suggests that the concept of subject has resulted from combination of the rational ego and the internal ego. The adjustment and change Marx made to the contemporary concept of subject had re-established its social foundation. What is more, he introduced the idea of heterogeneity to this concept, expressing concerns with different groupsubject.

This article attempts to reflect on the concept of self in the traditional theory of cognition with the Marxist historical cognition as the point of departure. The author holds that in the composition of cognition the self and the non-individual inter-subjectivity are of identical construct. This functions as both the context for sense of practice and the basis of cognition characteristic of individual rationality.

Moreover, it means actualization of "the five overall-plannings" in social economic development guided by the scientific concept of development.

    MA Jun-feng
    2005, (2):  24-28.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2604KB) ( )
With recognition of the importance of aspects such as science and technology in reality, the prominent role talented people assume is becoming more obvious. The strategy of empowering our country through better use of human resources and the scientific concept of development not only reflect the demand of social progress, but also opens possibility for more profound studies into Marxist theory of production of people,of which three levels have been established, namely, production of population, production of talented people, and production of men as individuals. Integration of the three may promote more satisfactory implementation of the scientific concept of development in the light of the"people first"policy.

Establishing Marxist Exchange Rate Theory from the Perspective of Value
    LI Chong
    2005, (2):  29-35.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2742KB) ( )
Establishing an exchange rate theory is an unfulfilled will of Marx. This paper explains the virtual value of money on the basis of the value or cost of commodities with the current international monetary system as the point of departure. The author then refers to international trade, international finance and international investment to analyze the virtual value of money, which leads to exchange parity of money as the basis of market exchange rate. Evidence from test of exchange parity of money shows that under circumstances of similar level of economic development, the formation of exchange rate in the market is based on the exchange parity of money.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (2866KB) ( )
Few people would have any doubt about the United States being a country of Christianity. In fact, there are various kinds of religion in the country, where the three major religions of the world exist side by side. In addition, there are various sects within the Christian religion. Generally speaking these sects have established a harmonious relation and abide by the constitutional principle of separation religion from politics. They do not only interfere with the government affairs, but consciously or subconsciously help the government to maintain social order. This article attempts to analyze the religious influence on American foreign and domestic affairs, especially that of the rise of the Gospels, which takes up about 43% of the population.

    LIU Qing-jian
    2005, (2):  49-55.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2714KB) ( )
Three stages are identified in the hundreds years of development of monopolistic capitalism. They are the stages of the general monopolistic capitalusm, the state monopolistic capitalism, and the international monopolistic capitalism. At each of the three stages developing countries have inserted different influence on the development course of monopolistic capitalism. At the stage of the general monopolistic capitalism, colonialism was the lifeline of capitalism. The collapse of colonial system at the stage of state monopoly did not damage the lifeline, for there were economic needs for its collapse as this allowed room for expansion and further development of monopolistic capitalism. At the stage of international monopolistic capitalism the developing countries assumed an even more important function to capitalism.

    HU Zong-shan
    2005, (2):  69-75.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2685KB) ( )
Marxist international relation theory differs from that of the western mainstream theory in its logics and philosophic connotation. Marxist theory is similar with the western theory in terms of the theme of world politics, motives for development of world politics, basic paradigm of research on international affairs and the philosophical and historical nature of the theory. However, Marxist theory has its own specific perspectives. It is imperative that socialist countries adopt an open and scientific attitude towards Marxist international relation theory, and apply the theory in coping with foreign affairs and conducting academic research on international relation.

    LIU Hui
    2005, (2):  76-79.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2426KB) ( )
The ideas of new democratic culture do not merely refer to extension of some basic guidelines. Instead, they contain rich and profound thought. The author holds that contributions of the cultural workers at large during the course in which the theory gradually took shape and developed should be emphasized. We should attribute the final achievement of these theories to the "collective cognition" of both the CPC leadership and the ordinary theorists arrived at through communication and interaction.
