Competence of Industrial Organization and Competitive Advantages of Enterprise
YANG Rei-long, LIU Gang, LI Xing-long
    2001, (4):  17-25.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1459KB) ( )
Analysis of competitive advantages of enterprises was an important research topic in theories and practice of strategic management of enterprises in 1980s. Its major theme is how enterprises gain sustainable competitive advantages. The latest theoretical findings of strategic management of enterprises since 1990s show that the industrial organization is the main source of long term excess profits and sustainable advantages in competition. However, traditional economic theories and dealing-cost economics hold a negative attitude towards this view, as they both examine the issue from a static perspective instead of a dynamic one. In fact, the author points out, accumulation of common knowledge during the dynamic interactive processes among enterprises will help improve efficiency of coordination among different industrial organizations. Consequently, differences in competence of coordination among individual industrial organizations will be revealed. Thus, competence of industrial organization is regarded as the basic source of long term profits for an enterprise.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (1430KB) ( )
Knowledge economy is a new ecological production mode. And production mode, which is an essential concept of Marxist conception of history, bears the defining properties of communicative practice. These properties are remarkably manifested in the production mode of knowledge economy, raising the construct of global communicative practice to a higher level. Production mode of knowledge economy possesses new features that transcend those of the industrial production mode in such areas as content, structure, efficiency, values and development trend. It functions as the basis of a new era of globalization.

An Analysis of Globalization in the Light of Marxist "Theory of World History"
    YANG Xue-gong, SUN Wei-ping
    2001, (4):  39-46.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1666KB) ( )
The author points out that Marxism is now facing the challenge of the era of globalization. However, the historical materialism of Marx, especially his methodology of analyzing historical periods in world history, remains one of the most important means to understand and to analyze the phenomenon of globalization. The author observes that the developed capitalist countries still occupy a prominent position in the world setup, and along with economic globalization and world integration comes development of regional economic cooperation. As economic globalization accelerates, tension between camps of universality and peculiarity in the fields of politics and culture may exist for a long time. New hot issues concerning the status of national states may arise.

Dual Development of Socialization of Production and Changes in Size of Enterprises
    QIU Hai-ping
    2001, (4):  47-52.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (853KB) ( )
Development of centralized production and social division of work are the dual manifestation of socialization of production. Centralization raises social productivity and scale efficiency, while division of work leads to specialization, resulting in higher level of individual productivity and level of specialty in production. Duality in socialization of production and shifting of the two aspects perform the most fundamental and far-reaching function in influencing the scale of production and size of enterprise. This phenomenon also accounts for the most profound reason why developed capitalism is still alive today.

Understanding Tendency of Multipolarity in Post Cold War Era
    CHEN Yue
    2001, (4):  53-56.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (621KB) ( )
After the Cold War, the international setup is characterized as "mono-polarity, multi-power" manifested in the confrontation between the United States as the only super power, and other strong powers, showing the feature of duality in structure. That is, mono-polarity on the one hand, and marked tendency of multipolarity on the other. The tendency of multipolarity is best expressed in efforts aimed at dominance of world affairs, indistinction between friends and enemies, and competition of integrated national capacity in terms of economy, science and technology. The tendency of multipolarity has been promoted by adjustment of relationships among big powers of the world.

On Theoretical Framework for Validation of Ideological and Political Education
    SHEN Zhuang-hai
    2001, (4):  75-78.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (445KB) ( )
The author observes that current validation research of ideological and political education has gained fairly remarkable achievement. However, valid ation studies as a whole still seem to be based more or less on experience, lack universal significance, and appear incomplete. To promote profundity of validat ion research in this area, a thorough and scientific theoretical frame should be established. This article is intended to offer preliminary analyses and argumen ts for establishment of this theoretical frame by addressing two issues: point o f departure in logic and basic construct of arguments.
