Scientific Implications of Deng Xiaoping Theory in Peace and Development
    LI Shu-zhen
    2001, (3):  5-9.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (833KB) ( )
The author observes that peace and development is still the major theme of this era, according to how it is defined by Deng Xiaoping and presented in the Party’s documents. Therefore, the idea that the world has already entered an era of peace and development is not in line with Deng Xiaoping theory or documents of the Party. Furthermore, this misunderstanding may even lead to denial of the common belief that ours is a transitional era, and we are in the process of developing from capitalism to socialism.

Retrospection and Introspection over Demography Strategy of China Today
    ZHAI Zhen-wu
    2001, (3):  10-14.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (800KB) ( )
The course of formation and growth of the demography strategy in China is marked by controversies. This is clearly illustrated by the obvious fact that the national policy of family planning has met with severe challenges and obstacles. The major cause that accounts for this phenomenon is that both the academic circle and the policy makers lack a clear, definite, thorough and objective understanding of the strategy of demography in China. The author emphasizes that in the 21st century overpopulation will still pose a serious problem, and that we must firmly adhere to the policy of population control.

On International Campaigns against Dumping and China’s Choice of Countermeasures
    CHEN Jian
    2001, (3):  15-22.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1151KB) ( )
What WTO advocates is fair and free competition in the market, but dumping can destroy these justified competitions. Since WTO started to function in 1995, the anti dumping treaties signed in its name has become a means to regularize world wide legislation process for anti dumping campaigns. In recent years, with the rising tide of economic globalization and free investment, anti dumping campaigns have come to perform the important role of maintaining justice in international trade and guarding against unfair competitions. As a result, the number of anti dumping cases increases, and a large number of them are directed against China, making China the major target of anti dumping campaigns in the world. Obviously, it is of utmost importance for us to investigate causes for the anti dumping cases against China and work out countermeasures accordingly in order to maintain rapid development in trade.

On Noumenon:A Fundamental Issue of Human Existence
    WANG Feng-ming
    2001, (3):  23-30.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2477KB) ( )
The author maintains that the meaning of noumenon theory must be clarified before we can understand precisely the theory of noumenon in Marxist philosophy. The author holds that there exist differences in understanding theories of noumenon among professionals because people become confused about two completely different points from two different categories and get them mixed up. The two points are “the question of noumenon itself" and “different interpretations through different approaches" arrived at by different philosophers. The theory of noumenon stands for logical and conscious introspection of human beings over the foundation or contradictions of their own existence. On the basis of achieving unity between man and the world in facts and in values there is the need to reflect on a higher level of unity, that is, unity of truth and values, and unity of regularity and intention.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (1162KB) ( )
Schumpter’s idea of fundamental system has many things in common with that of Marx. In a sense, Marxist economics can be regarded as a source of Schumpter’s economic ideas. However, there are divergent points between Marx and Schumpter in terms of methodologies of explanation and points of view in presentation.

    ZHANG Mao-ming
    2001, (3):  37-42.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (663KB) ( )
What kind of international order is to be established has always been the concern of the world. After the end of the Cold War various opinions about the new order have been voiced and China, too, has gradually developed her own view of new world order, and has won the support of a majority of countries. The author explains that the international law, which functions as the law among different countries, is so important that its position in dealing with international relations cannot be underestimated. For this reason establishment of a new world order should be in line with the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and other commonly recognized rules. The author points out that advocating and establishing a new world order conforms to the interest of the Chinese people. So, China should stick to her policies accordingly and reinforce studies of relevant issues.

The intended objective of the three campaigns of criticism is to understand the reality of China, and to adhere to the principle of always considering development of productivity as the firs priority.
