On Cultural and Social Transformation and the Link between the Two
    1997, (10):  10-14.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (742KB) ( )
In the light of the thory that the relationship between culture and society is that of a combination of stripping and integration, the system atic transformation of the social system consists of social transformation and cultural transform ation marked by stripping and integration. The theory of matching culture and society leads us to think of the objective demands of market economy and democratic politics on culture, while the theory of inter-dynamics guides us on the way of gradual development and conformation during operation of cultural and social transformation.and the theory concerning the relation between specific value and abstract value of culture gives rise to the mechanism of cultural transformation. That is,generalizing original abstract value of culture, tracking back to its original form, restoring its vigor, and then restating the traditional culture according to the requirement of modern society.

On Contradictory State of Social Transformation and Its Cost in Countries That Lag behind
    1997, (10):  15-19.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (977KB) ( )
The developing countries are highly motivated to undergo soicial transformation in order to get rid of the heavy loss caused by underdevelopment and being left behind. They paid a high price for this transformation. This includes the loss in value caused by conflicts between conventional native aspects and modern foreign aspects, negative effect of the influence of models provided by developed countries, and the high cost resulted from their disadvantageous position in international economic system. The author maintains that there exists a dialectic relation between social development and its cost.In fact, the history of social development is but a history of cost, and a history of paying and sublation.

Changes in China’s Rural Economic System with Economic Analysis of Its Attainment and Efficiency
    1997, (10):  25-30.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1297KB) ( )
The inner motive for changes in china’s rural economic system lies in its extremely backward productivity and wide spread crises in agricultural economy resulting from the traditional “favor strategy”.The course of changes in china's rural economic system from 1978 to 1996 proved that the practice of “double-track pricing system” failed to reach the int ended goal. The “city-biased” inertia caused by “favor strategy” led to contradictions between an increase of peasants’ income and an increase of grain supply, which in turn,to a certain extent, led to irregulas rise and fall in production and supply of grain,in addition to grain shortage in general. All this will leave unfavorable impact on economic behavior of peasants in various economic regions.A breakt hrough for further rural reform in china, the author concludes, should be imposing low-price purchase of major agricultural products.

From Knowledge Sociology to Scientific Knowledge Sociology
    1997, (10):  43-46.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (852KB) ( )
This article holds that knowledge sociology was intiated from social determination theory by Marx.In time it developed into an independent tranch of science and formed three schools, namely, the “German Sociology-Phiosophy School”,the “French Durkheim School” and the “American Chicago School”.Mannheim proposed that social sciences should have their own research perspective and research method. Therefore, effective application of the methods of interpretation and physigraphy marked its maturity. The rise of scientific knowledg esociology actually questioned and ariticized the traditional dichotomization of knowledge, that is,the distinguishing between knowledge of scientific technology and nonknowledge. The founding of theoretical system of scientific knowledge sociology indicated realization on the transfer from traditional knowlege sociolog y to scientific knowledge sociology.
