    QI Peng-fei
    2011, (7):  5-12.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2874KB) ( )
The division of development stages of CPC history has been an important but subtle and controversial issue in the research field of CPC history.Up till now no consensushas been reached among Chinese scholars conceming the major historical periods from a macro perspective and specific development stages from a micro perspective, differing mainly in evidence, criteria and the demarcation points.A case in point is the division of specific development stages in the three"thirty-year periods"during the 90 years of CPC history.Disagreement exists from the"nine-stage theory"to the "fourteen-stage theory".

    Abstract ( )   PDF (3020KB) ( )
The thought and policies of the Communist Party of China conceming the farmers have played an indispensable histprical part in fulflling the central tasks during the three histprocal peripds of the Chinese revolution, socialist construction and refom and opening. In the pedod of new democratic revolion,CPC mobilized farmers to take part in the democratic revolution against imperialism and feudalism by continuously exploring and perfecting its land reform policy and route. In the period of socialst constlmction,CPC relied on agricultural collectivization and the househol registration system to achieve the historical mission of accumulating sufficient capital for industrialization through scores of state monopoly purchase and sale of agricultural and subsidiary products. In the early part of the period refom and open-up,CPC first implemented aseties of measures such as the household contract responsibility system to greatly emancipate agricultural productvity. Then,at the turn of the centuries,CPC made many preferential aghchltlural policies to support agriculture.Among these policies are abolition ofagricultural tax, subsidies to agricultural production, and the "NCMS"and"new farmer’sinsurance"to provide basic social security for farmers. All these are important measures that followw the people-oriented scientific concept of development to construct well-ott society.

On the Ideas about Production Relations in "Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts of 1844" and "The Holy Family"
    ZHAO Jia-xiang
    2011, (7):  32-39.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2203KB) ( )
Although Marx did not propose the concept of production relations in his work "Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts of 1844",he did include the contents and basic ideas of production relations in the essential concept of alienated labor in that work. The idea of production relations continued and was further elaborated in his work "The Holy Family" coauthored with Engels.

Historical Analysis of the Nature and Foundation of "Material Production":An Investigation Guided by Historical Materialism
    WANG Hu-xue
    2011, (7):  40-45.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1859KB) ( )
Marx presented the idea of "division of labor".It was inspired by the insights drawn from this perspective and methodology that Marx had discovered "material production"the fundamental and decisive factor of historyout of the complicated and intricate interweaving social activities and social relations.Marx then explained the point of departure of history by the concept "material production",that is,the practical material production of human beings discovered the origin of history;the rough material production of human society revealed the decisive factor of history, and it was the production and reproduction of material life that established the concept of historical materialism.

On the Relationship between Labor Productivity and Creation of Value
    HE Gan-qiang
    2011, (7):  46-53.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1789KB) ( )
A premise of doing research on this topic is to scientifically define the nature of value with the basic principle of duality of labor as the point of departure. It is imperative to recognize that in the same department, useful labor of the higher productivity labor shows a higher quality than the social standard. Therefore, its actual hours of labor can be converted into more labor time socially necessary and are capable of creating more social value. The author emphasized that negligence of duality of labor was misleading,so it should be corrected. We should recognize that in the same department advanced objective production aspects may perform the function of absorbing more socially necessary labor.Furthermore,in the quantitative analysis of the magnitude of value created by labor the mathematical logic should be subordinated to the scientific logic of economics.

On the Relationship between Labor Productivity and Magnitude of Commodity Value
    ZHANG Xian
    2011, (7):  54-59.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1389KB) ( )
The commodity value is in inverse proportion to labor productivity. This is true both with a single item of commodity and with the total magnitude of commodity value. When productivity and complexity of labor are both raised,it is found that the commodity value is still in inverse proportion to labor productivity, but in direct proportion to the complexity of labor. An increase in the total magnitude of commodity value can only be explained by the development in social work division. This is a point that has been neglected in the literature.

Theoretical Definition and Explorations into the Relationship between Labor Productivity and Magnitude of Commodity Value
    MA Yan
    2011, (7):  60-67.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1992KB) ( )
That labor productivity and magnitude of unit commodity value are negatively correlated is an important proposition of the classical Marxist theory concerning value of labor. The author raised a new hypothesis about the aspect of labor in the theory of "inverse proportion",and assumed that under circumstances of advancement in science and technology, along with the changes in the objective aspect similar changes would occur in the subjective aspect of labor, and that larger degree of changes would occur in the subjective aspect than in the objective aspect. If this is proved,a conclusion that labor productivity is in direct proportion to magnitude of commodity value can be reached.

Isolationism and its Influence on Contemporary U.S. Grand Strategy
    LIU Jun
    2011, (7):  68-74.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1634KB) ( )
With the end of the Cold War,especially after the "9/11 incident",American isolationism has been continuously on the rise. The author holds that though it is not likely that the U.S.will return to the traditional ideology of isolationism, isolationism is one of the strategic options in the American grand strategy. In fact,as a form of basic social ideology, isolationism always appeals to the American people in their reflections on the American grand strategy.Consequently,it has restricted America’s proceedings towards liberal internationalism by means of pressures of public opinions from domestic politics.

On the Trend of Security in Northeast Asia and Adjustment of China’s Strategies
    XIAO Xi
    2011, (7):  75-80.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1293KB) ( )
Since the start of the year 2010 the various hot issues in Northeast Asia became serious in succession, resulting in unsteady regional security.China’s national security is inevitably challenged. The paper observes that the security dilemma in Northeast Asia will continue, the competitions among big powers tend to become more intensive, and the hot issues of the region may not be solved in the near future.Against such a background,China’s future strategies will substantially affect the security of Northeast Asia. The author suggests that China should maintain a modest image of rational, beneficial, and restrained backed up by the increasingly growing national power, and temper the courage to bear responsibility. In order to lay a solid geographical base to develop to a big power,China should make great efforts to maintain peace and stability, and facilitate regional development and prosperity.Meanwhile,China should actively expand the strategic space, and promote establishment of a regional security framework in our own core interests.

The Internal Contradiction of "Global Modernity" according to the Logic of Capital
    XI Ge
    2011, (7):  81-88.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1904KB) ( )
The paper points out that modernity and globalization can be closely linked through the logic of capital.Globalization is,in effect, worldwide mobility and expansion of modernity, this is why it is termed "global modernity".While the logic of capital is reflected in the whole process of globalization,it also gives rise to the fundamental paradox of contradictions. In other words, global modernity may function to "assimilate world civilizations",but at the same time it also contains the centeredge mechanism that splits the world.

On the Viability of the Westphalia System in Globalization Era
    PAN Ya-ling
    2011, (7):  89-96.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2114KB) ( )
The development of globalization and interdependence has brought great challenges to the survival of Westphalia system. It is important to consider how the Westphalia system to adapt to the new environment and maintain its viability. From analysis on its original logics, this paper explores the logics of tolerance,laissez-faire,and self-overcoming,and compares them with current prevailing logics of intolerance, resource scarcity, and self-preserving.This paper argues that the Westphalia system has relatively strong elasticity and adaptability. To a great extent, current international developments are returning but not abandoning of the System. To fully and comprehensively realize such logics and maintain viability of the System,we should recover its original logic but not to abandon it which requires to spillover the tolerance of low-political to high-political,to find peaceful resolution for resource scarcity to realize the laissez-faire logic, and to promote global governance transforming from hierarchical model to networks and guarantee the primacy of self-overcoming logic.
