Problem awareness in practice of philosophical reflection is an important thinking perspective. It presents the reality of human life experience that is not only rational and inevitable but also imperfect and irrational with developmental problems, especially at the dawn of a new historical era.In philosophical reflections guided by problem awareness, critiques of irrational cultural aspects against the era may lead to new values and ideals. It is the practice of such serious and critical reflections and attention to the time that have enabled philosophers to raise significant questions for human existence and development. Therefore, fostering problem awareness is not only the point of departure of academic studies and growing point of disciplinary development, but also lasting motives for development of human practice.

The Position of Practice in the World
    TIAN Xin-ming
    2010, (1):  35-43.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2957KB) ( )
Practice embodies the meaning of ontology. To grasp the ontology of the world one should not neglect practice.Yet practice is not the ontology of the world.Instead, the ontology of the world refers to a uniformed material world that includes the special movement of practice.A discussion of "practical ontology" is a logic cycle of the concepts of "practice" and "ontology".The basic logic lies in the idea that since practice, and practice only,is ontology, then ontology is practice. In this self-defined conception, unrestrained free nature is excluded from the philosophy of "ontology",but it can not be exclude from human production and human life. The claim that "practical ontology" was established by Marx does not fit into the reality of Marxist philosophical ideas."Practical existence" considers practice to be equal to human existence. It exaggerates practice, which leads to the consequent generalization of the concept of practice;and it dismisses the relation between "material practice" and "concept",which leads to ablation of material practice into ideological activities. This is similar with the old materialist and idealist philosophical ideas of "not knowing" and "not aware of" practice. The author concludes that "practical ontology" and "practical existence" belong to pragmatism and not practical materialism. They both are marked with the tendency of practical idealism.

Dilemma of Modernity and Reconstruction of Rationality
    ZHENG Zhao-li
    2010, (1):  44-50.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1810KB) ( )
Being a second generation of the leading future of the Frankfurt school,Habermas stands out among the various schools of philosophy that examine and criticize modernity. On the one hand,he defends the ideal of modernity, claiming that modernity is an incomplete design;on the other hand,he reflects on the dilemma of modernity and seeks for a possible solution.Through a philosophical analysis of the internal consistency of modernity and subjectivity,he conforms to Hegel’s idea that subjectivity is the main principle of modernity, and further points out that subjectivity in essence belongs to "philosophy of consciousness" led by rationality. He holds that to reconstruct rationality it is necessary to be really free from the traditional nest of philosophy of consciousness, abandon the traditional metaphysic way of thinking, interpret the concept of rationality from the perspective of post-metaphysics,and replace "philosophy of consciousness" with "theory of communicative behavior".

On the Changes in German Labor Relations since the 1990s
    LI Li-lin, CHEN Li-wen
    2010, (1):  85-92.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1838KB) ( )
Labor relations in Germany have met severe challenges ever since the start of 1990s. The major cause for this is the tremendous changes in the German political and economic situation and the international environment in the past 20 years. The problems of high unemployment rate and low economic growth that have continued for years resulted in intensified labor relations. As a consequence, the group negotiation system of the laborers, the capitalists and the government as well as that of the occupation levels are also challenged and obliged to change. The author holds that studies of the changes in the German labor relation system will shed light on similar changes and development ocurring in other countries in the new situation with profound references.
