On the Trend of China’s Labor Relations in the New Period and Problem Solving Options CHENG Lian-sheng 2009, (4):  5-11.  DOI: Abstract ( )   PDF (1167KB) ( )   The reform of China’s economic system has witnessed the rapid development of non-publicly owned economy and an increased employment as a result of this development.Consequently,labor relations become a widespread issue.However,this has not received due attention until the labor-management conflicts have intenisfied to such an degree that they have posed one of the major trigers of social turmoils.The paper starts with a description of the rise and evolution of the labor relations to illustrate how the issue has become deteriorated followed by an attribution analysis.Suggestions for policy making aimed at establishing a new type of labor relations of mutual benefits are proposed. On Theory of Deliberative Democracy and Development of Democratic Politics in China WU Xiao-lin, ZUO Gao-shan 2009, (4):  12-19.  DOI: Abstract ( )   PDF (2292KB) ( )   From the perspective of structural functionalism,the theory of "deliberative democracy" has positive influence on the development of Chinese democratic politics.First,it promotes political structural differentiation and raises the capability of political subjects.Second,it helps to increase orderly civic participation and recreates the governmental process;Third,it is conducive to raise policy rationality of the public and pushes forward harmonious political relationships.However,the theory has at least three potential defects.At the structural level,it might be used as an excuse for governmental expansion;at the process level,it might lead to fruitless dialogues;at the policy level,it might be dissimulated as black box for the strong groups to persue their own interests.To make good use of the theory for Chinese politics,we should integrate the political stock within the system to raise the deliberative function of the political subjects,cultivate the civic society and to promote structural growth of social deliberatiion;Secondly,we should realize effective interest articulation and interest aggregation through "enrationalized deliberation" and "enpowered deliberation";Thirdly,we should secure the supervision of the media and society in order to establish sound institutional procedurs for deliberation.Under the current condition,it is more crucial to ensure deliberation in all steps of the political process than merely pursue formal deliberation. Defending Marx through Deconstruction——On Derrida’s New Interpretation of Marx ZHANG Xu 2009, (4):  33-38.  DOI: Abstract ( )   PDF (2148KB) ( )   Derrida is recognized as one of most important philosophers in the latter half of the 20th century.After the disintegration of the camp of Soviet and East Europe Communism in 1989,he gave Marx so much praise that it was a significant historical event in the history of philosophy in the 20th century.The author holds that it is necessary to understand the intention and significance of Derrida’s new interpretation of Marx.By analysing deconstructively the concept of specters of Marx,Derrida explained the meaning of inheriting Marx’s living spirit,which pointed to the New International against the capitalist international order dominated by a few hegemonic states. On Adorno’s Critical Theory of Mass Culture WANG Xiao-yan 2009, (4):  39-42.  DOI: Abstract ( )   PDF (995KB) ( )   Adorno is the one who first introduced both mass culture and celebrity culture simultaneously into the realm of modern theory of culture,and set the tune for critique of mass culture of the Frankfurt School.Adorno’s critical culture theory was a response to the crisis of modern industrial society and culture caused by the commercialized,normalized and enforcing mass culture.Adorno advocated anti-art that performed the functions of negation,criticism and Utopia.He maintained that only this kind of art could eliminate despair and save the spirit and the reality.The author points out that while Adorno’s critical theory of mass culture reveals the conflicts and crises of modern capitalism,it has obvious limitaitons and defects,too. A Review of Literature on the Relationship between Partisan Behavior and Economic Policies in New Political Economics LIU Lei, LI Jing-ye 2009, (4):  50-56.  DOI: Abstract ( )   PDF (1232KB) ( )   The new political economics is a rapid developing field which studies economic issues by integrating economics and politics.This perspective enriches our research.The relationship between partisan behavior and economic policies studied in this paper is an elaboration of this combination.First partisan difference is defined and analyzed.Based on this analysis the paper illustrates three models of partisan behavior that influence macroeconomic policies,namely,Hibbs model,discretionary model and rational partisan model.Then the relationship between partisan behavior and macroeconomic policies is discussed.At the end of the paper,implications of partisan theory on institutional normalization is explained.
