On Relation between Creditability and Market Economy
    XIA Wei-dong
    2003, (4):  8-14.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1214KB) ( )
In the report of the 16th Party Congress, a new requirement of moral construction is raised, that is, placing emphasis on honesty and trustworthy. Then the significant and practical value of the interpretation of market economy with respect to the norm of honesty and trustworthy suggested by Marx is explored. The author believes that this interpretation can offer profound insights on our understanding of the relationship between market economy and the credit system, especially the internal links between socialist market economy with the credit system and with establishment of honesty and trustworthy as a moral norm.

    On Transmutation of Epistemology
    GAO An-qi
    2003, (4):  44-48.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (592KB) ( )
The author observes that there are two basic principles in human activity, namely, the principle of truth and the principle of value. The history of human practice and human cognition coincides the history of development of the principles of truth and value. The principle of subjectivity, then, is a primary principle of human activity. A remarkable contribution of philosophical revolution by Marx is that he proposed the principle of subjectivity based on practice. This has corrected the defect of negligence of subjectivity by old materialism, and redressed the idealist denial of the principle of subjectivity based on objective world. The author maintains that transmutation in cognition from principle of truth and principle of value to the principle of subjectivity is in fact inevitable. Therefore, it is important to study the principle of subjectivity so as to establish a subjectivity principle that will benefit human recognition and practice. Only in this way can interests of mankind as a whole be secured.

    SONG Xin-ning
    2003, (4):  55-57.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (458KB) ( )
The disputes between the EU and the United States on Iraq crisis are not fundamental, but on the methods. The EU has its special interests on the Middle East such as economic, security, foreign policy priority and other domestic considerations. Even the United Kingdom has its own interest preference. The basic nature of EU-US relations is still alliance. The EU will cooperate with the US on Iraq, especially on the re-construction after the war.
