Regional Economic Disparities and the Choice of Strategic Goals
    Cheng Jianguo
    1996, (6):  21-25,79.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2526KB) ( )
The current regional disparities of development during the period of economic transition, results not onlyfrom historical heritage, but also from the disparities development strategy implemented after the reform andopen policy. It is impossible to solve the problem purely relying upon market mechanism or upon adiministrative power, without the co-operation between the two sides. Although it is right in prinaple that efficiencyshould be given priority while taking into account social justice, the latter has been in many cases not fully embodied in government stratagy of development. It is an urgent undertaking to rationally reconstruct the relationship between government and market, which is the precondition to bring the ever-extending regional disparities under control.

Issues on Reforming the Teaching of Theoretical Economics
    Lin Gang
    1996, (6):  29-35,79.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2769KB) ( )
There are scholars who regard the Western economics as a branch of general science to take the place ofMarxist economics. This paper holds an opposite view. As basic theories of economics always carry definite ideological bearings, so does the Western economics. It not only reflects operational features of socialized production and market economy, but also advertises the capitalist ideology. Therefore,it is necessary that the teachingof political economics not be restricted to the scope of essential relation, On the contrary, it should cover threelevels: 1, studies on the essential social and economic relations; 2, analyses of various forms of economic relations; and 3, analyses of the stimulus-restraint mechanism and behavior of the economic subject.

More Profound Understanding of the Soviet Industrial Model at the 8th National Conference of CPC and Its Limitations
    Wu Li
    1996, (6):  39-43,79.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2529KB) ( )
As China entered the period of large-scale construction in 1953, the Soviet industrial model appealed to her because of her backwardness in economy, her shortness in natural resources, and the tense international situation around her as well. Therefore, CPC chose to follow the Soviet model. However, during the 8th National Conference of CPC, with introspection on the seven years since China was founded, many new ideas andsuggestions for new policies which were more suitable for China’s situations were put forward. Nevertheless, due to some historical limitations the 8th conference was unable to break through the Soviet influence.

Review on Theories of Contradiction in 1990s
    Zhang Jingrong
    1996, (6):  44-47,80.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2422KB) ( )
Researches into theories of contradiction in 1990s can be manifested mainly in such questions as how tounderstand the category of contradiction, the subjectivity of theories of contradiction, and the relation amongtheories of contradiction, systematology and dialectics. Compared with those conducted in 1980s, researchesinto the questions above in 1990s have made new advances, showing that philosophers have been striving toseek new departures in line with the changing time. Meanwhile, defects such as low-level repetitions of thesame topics are also revealed. Therefore, researches should be expanded and deepened in the following aspects:making an overall study of the category of contradiction, disclosing the relation between the objectivity of contradiction and the subjectivity of man in a more systematic and comprehensive way,and from the point of viewof philosophical theory of system. strengthening the research in the relation among theories of contradiction, systematology and dialectics.

Reconsideration on the Causes That Accounted for the Evolution in USSR
    Zhou xincheng
    1996, (6):  60-65,80.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2610KB) ( )
The trilogy of peaceful evolution in some former socialist countries. including USSR, is as follows: First, the antagonists mess up ideology in the name of democracy. Then they take over the power, and finally restorecapitalist economic system. In the case of the soviet Union the major causes are both external and internal:peaceful evolution strategies carried out by the West, and problems arisen from inside the Party. The natureof the Party was then gradually changed by a humane democratic socialist ideology started around the middleof 1980s. resulting in the Party’s giving up basic principles of socialism, and altering the correct direction ofreform. All this restrained social progress and finally led to the disintegration of the Soviet Communist Partyas well as the Soviet Union.

Review on the Western Theories in Transaction Costs
    Chen Xiangyun, Bao Linmei
    1996, (6):  66-70,80.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2544KB) ( )
Contemporary Western theories in transaction costs uses "transaction" as the starting point of their research. This opens up a new perspective for research into the operation and evolution of the system, and improves the research system of micro-economics. Based on the concept of economy, the transaction costs theoryemploys research findings in economics, organization, and law to study transactions and economic system, andbroadens prospects and application areas of economics. Nonetheless, this theory somehow exaggerates the influence of transaction costs on the process and effects of production and transaction, and therefore exaggeratesthe role of transaction costs in innovation of the market and other economic institutions.
