Comments on Modern Neoconfucianism and Postmodernist Thoughts
    Yi Junqing
    1996, (2):  8-12,80.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2473KB) ( )
Neoconfucianism and postmodernism take the critique of the social evils in developed industrial countries and the negative aspects of modernization as basic standpoint, and aim at deconstruction of modernity from the point of view of both premodern and postmodern angles respectively. The combination and connection of neoconfucianism and postmodernism in the process of Chinese modernization are objectively hindering the emergence of modern cultural spirits. We must reject neoconfucianist and postmodernist cultural spirits, for China can’t join the modern world history without modernization. The priority for China is not to cure the evils of modernization, but to speed up the modernization process.

    Song Zhiming
    1996, (2):  23-26,80.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2418KB) ( )
Modern neoconfucianists consider that modernization doesn’t mean westernization, traditional culture can fit into modernization and confucianist ethic is helpful to modernization of personality. These viewpoints have a great influence among the professionals, and maintain rational factors. Modern neoconfucianism,in essence, doesn’t go out of the error of culture determinism, nor has it got rid of the limitation of culture conservatism. Make appropriate estimate of the value of modern neoconfucianism, and it may become a motive power of modernization. Otherwhise,it will become an obstruction of modernization.

Western Economists’Ideas on the Relationship Between Inflation and Unemployment
    Wu Jingmin
    1996, (2):  48-52,81.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2563KB) ( )
Since foe Second World War. the coexistence of high rate of Inflation and unemployment in major capitalist countries has become a serious problem all governments have to confront. The relationship between high rate of inflation and unemployment has also become an issue the Western economists have to discuss. They put in succession a set of theories such as rate of Inflation is negatively correlated with rate of unemployment. rate of inflation is not relevant to rate of unemployment. rate of inflation is positively correlated with unemployment. and unemployment follows Inflation closely. and so on. They are trying to explain and solve this problem. Though these theories can’t lower the high rate of inflation and the high rate of unemployment. they are still of some significance to bring inflation in our country under control.
