    The Modern Construction of Ideological and Political Education in the Process of Modernization

    The construction of modernity in ideological and political education is carried out in the process of pursuing the Chinese path to modernization. First, the Chinese path to modernization in practice has gradually formed a modernity that is different from the original modernity represented by Western capitalist countries, and provided a context for the emergence and a direction for the construction of modernity in ideological and political education. Second, the construction of modernity in ideological and political education is a reflective,critical and spontaneous process based on the needs of the current society and the development of ideological and political education, and it is necessary to forge the selfidentity of modernity and clarify the constituent elements and main dimensions of the construction of modernity in the Chinese path to modernization. Finally, the construction of modernity through ideological and political education can provide solid political guarantee, profound cultural nourishment and sustainable spiritual strength for building China into a modern socialist country in all respects, realizing the second centenary goal, and advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through the Chinese path to modernization.

    The Governance of Ideological and Political Education from the Perspective of Modernity: The Generation Logic, Connotations and Values

    The generation logic of the governance of ideological and political education is a combination of theoretical, practical and realistic logics. Its basic connotations are as follows. In terms of the idea of education, it advocates for more governance and less government. In terms of subjects of education, diverse subjects constitute an education community. In terms of the exercise of power, those diverse subjects are parallel, fulfilling their duties together through consultation instead of in a topdown order. In the spatial term, it covers many areas, parts and levels, and therefore lays more stress on system construction and collaborative action. In the temporal term, it is continuous, dynamic and reflective. The governance of ideological and political education is valuable for facilitating the modernization of the national governance in the following ways. It can strengthen people's confidence in Chinese institutions, which is the mental foundation for the reform in all areas. It can offer value orientation and political assurance for improving institutional systems in all domains. It can continuously provide talents for the reform by cultivating “new people” and modern citizens, thus boosting the transformation of China's institutional advantages into governance achievements.

    While ideological and political education in colleges and universities has made great achievements in personnel training, after a long period of theoretical accumulation and practical exploration, a series of regular understandings that reflect the essence of education and have guiding significance have been formed. They include: unwaveringly adhering to the leadership of the Communist Party and ensuring the correct development direction of ideological and political education in universities; adhering to the guidance of scientific theory, arming the teachers and students of the university with the partys innovative theory; tightly surrounding the center of talent training and scientifically grasping the ideology and politics of universities educational function positioning; pay attention to the development and changes of the times and continuously meet the needs and expectations of young students' growth and development. The ideological and political education of colleges and universities in the new era must firmly grasp and scientifically apply these laws, continue to adhere to the leadership of the CCP, unswervingly follow the CCP, innovative theory, take talent training as the central link, and take the characteristics of the times as the basis to achieve a higher level.
