Abstract: The inauguration of “New Youth” was the inevitable outcome of the trend of modern Chinese culture,and it produced a profound influence on the trend of Chinese modern culture at the same timeIn brief,the Chinese modern culture trend is mainly manifested in three aspectsFirstly it is from close to openSecondly it is from single mode to pluralismThirdly it is from traditional to modernWithout the experience of Chinese culture from close to open starting from the Opium War there would not be the publication of “New Youth”Meanwhile,the birth of “New Youth” greatly pushed forward the opening up of the Chinese culture

摘要： 《新青年》的创刊既是中国近代文化走向的必然产物，同时又对中国近代文化走向产生过重要而深远的影响。概而言之，中国近代的文化走向主要表现在三个方面：一是从封闭走向开放；二是从一元走向多元；三是从传统走向现代。从鸦片战争时期非常有限度的开放，到洋务运动时期开放的扩大，再到19世纪末20世纪初开放的进一步扩大，最后到新文化运动时期的全面开放，这就是中国文化从封闭走向开放的全过程。没有中国文化自鸦片战争时期开始的从封闭走向开放，就不可能有《新青年》的创刊，而《新青年》的创刊，又对中国文化进一步走向开放起到了重要的推动作用。
