Abstract: The question of realistic premise of historical materialism in"German Ideology"was raised by Marx and Engels based on the materialist world outlook they obtained.From the internal context in which Marx and Engels expressed this idea,the establishment of historical materialism opened a new vision.The purpose of defining this premise was not to provide basic categories or logical starting point for the theoretical construction of historical materialism.Instead,it was meant to include all the activities of realistic individuals and relevant condition of material life under historical inspection to show their individual existence and historical relations,which can serve as the point of departure and methodology for historical materialist investigation.
