A Comparative Study of Marxist Theory of Public Product and the Western Theory of Public Product
    HU Jun, JIA Kai-jun
    2008, (2):  9-15.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1009KB) ( )
Marxist theory of public product studies public product and the nature of public service with respect to demand and supply. It is human-oriented,holistic,from the perspectives of demand and supplies, revolving on the common needs for social existence and development in which the market is seen as a means of supplying public products. The western theory of public product,on the other hand, views individuals or consumption as the point of departure. They regard the public product as compensation for marketing dysfunction, studying the balance of demand and supply in line with consumption preference guided by requirement of marketing.Comparing the two theories of public product may help understand public product, the nature and characteristics, forms, manners of supply and criteria for selection of public service under circumstances of socialist market economy. This is of great theoretical and practical significance.

Grasping the Life Style:Shidina and Marx——Interpretation of an Excerpt from St. Max,a Chapter in German Ideology
    NIE Jin-fang
    2008, (2):  16-23.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2443KB) ( )
The chapter "St.Max" has not been covered in studies of "German Ideology".This is a lengthy chapter with profound and complicated ideas. In its Preface and "The Book of Genesis,i.e.,a Man’s" in "Old Testment: Life" of Part One,there have been frequent conflicts between ideas of Marx and Shidina. For instance,if we may consider nothingness as the basis of life and career,or should life and carrer start from the real life conditions;if it is appropriate to write biography of man in abstract terms or describe and regulate the process of human development based on individual material "life" and social "life";if exploration of the spiritual world means trenscending reality or acquisition of thinking skills. All this shows the differences in view points and manners of grasping the world. As long as we admit that the world is not of one existence, one understanding,or one interpretation,we should analyze their differences in argument, logic and ideas from the point of view of a third person. This is a hard job of interpretation which cannot be acomplished merely by making simple positive or negative judgment.

Can the Peasants’ Income Be Continuously Raised through Rapid Reduction of Agricultural Tax
    DING Shou-hai
    2008, (2):  24-30.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1642KB) ( )
This paper attempts to discuss the validity of the agricultural taxation reform and likelihood of its continuity. Both theoretical analysis and empirical evidence show that its immediate effect of increasing the income of the peasants is obvious, but with the passage of time this effect tends to decrease.Apart from existing findings, the author holds that the binary system of employment is a crucial factor that quickens the decreasing process. In light of this analysis, the author offers suggestions for reinforcing the effectiveness of the post-agricultural tax reform.Simultaneous progress in agricultural reform and urban employment, agricultural subsidies and industrial employment subsidies are emphasized.

The Dynamics of Theories of Aggregate Unemployment:A Representation and Comparison of the Neoclassical and Keynesian Models of Unemployment
    LI Gui-cai, Dic Lo
    2008, (2):  37-43.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1419KB) ( )
The comparative analysis of the various Neoclassical and Keynesian theories of unemployment is of importance but has been unsatisfactory in the relevant literature, because of lacking a reasonable analytical framework that could faithfully represent the essential ideas of both of the two theoretical traditions. The objective of this paper is to attempt an analysis of this kind,by means of drawing and improving on the analytical framework of"alternative closures".From our comparative analysis,it can be found that both of the two traditions of macroeconomics have their respective"micro-foundations",namely,price-setting agents in Keynesian models,price-taking agents in Neoclassical models.

A Study of Incentive Theory and Its Operational Model
XU Hong, YAO Yue, YANG Wan-gui
    2008, (2):  44-49.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (916KB) ( )
Designing the incentive system is an essential part of enterprise management.Stephen Ross has proposed a model of incentive system guided by the agency theory based on strict assumptions. However, this model fails to solve certain theoretical problems existing within the incentive system. In addition, the strictly conditioned assumptions have restricted wide application of this model. The author maintains that it is advisable to adopt carefully designed research methods to explore the current incentive system in China in order to find out the objective theory functioning in the incentive system. These can then be referred to as supporting theories in designing the incentive model, including values of enterprises, assessment of managers as human capital, and correlation of enterprise value and assessment of managers as human capital and so on.On the basis of this, the Stephen Ross model of incentive system can be modified from a dynamic perspective, the correlation between enterprise value and assessment of managers as human capital, and dual nature of the work of managers.

    XU Hai-yun
    2008, (2):  58-64.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1211KB) ( )
Although the influence of NATO has covered Eurasia after its two waves of expansion,it doesn’t satisfy with its achievement and look Ukraine as the next target for expansion further. The foundation of NATO Enlargement has been the particular international situation during the Post-Cold War period, the Cold War ideology, the political attitude of the Soviet Union and the Baltic states, and the coordination among those members of NATO.Although NATO Enlargement has strengthened its international strategic position,it also has brought the international society some uncertain factors, which have affected its new member countries heavily. If NATO wants to play an important role in the future,it has to do something important: First,it should get rid of the Cold War ideology, second,it should change its model of development concentrating on its enlarging quantity, and the third is,it should observe existing rules of the international society. This is the only way that NATO can prolong its life and develop a lot.

    YOU Zhao-he
    2008, (2):  72-79.  DOI:
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2381KB) ( )
The word "value" originally means "cover up,protect, strengthen".It reflects the internal nature and goal of human exploration. The nature of value does not lie in external material needs, but recognition of significance of human life. Therefore, the essence of value is life, and the exploration of and reflection on meaning of life is the point of departure of philosophy of value.Studies of general values have been trapped because of the subjects, methodology, and concepts, thus it is necessary to construct "values of life" on the basis of human science.Values of life attempts to discover the nature of value through questioning, advocates the cognitive model of distinguishing the subject and the object. It aims to realize integration of philosophy of life and philosophy of value, and integration of the Chinese philosophy and the western philosophy as well.

The idea of commune socilism is initiated by Heercen,a Russian philosopher. This idea reflects the desire of eliminating the slave system and establishing socialism based on public ownership in the rural communities. It comes from the great efforts made by the Russian revolutionary democrats in combining the advanced socialist ideas in west Europe and the reality in Russia. The idea of commune socilism lies in the core of the populist. It has exerted major influence on the Russian social history. It is also an important evidence for Marx’s idea that Russia might be able to transcend the Kafdin Valley.
