The author maintains that after the cold war the tendency of co-existence in world economy is on the rise, and the role economic aspect plays in international affairs becomes increasingly important. However, the author points out, there is one serious defect in research in international relation in China and in development of international relation as a discipline, that is, a lack of multi-academic background of the researchers and limited means of research. Therefore, the author suggests, it is of significance that researchers in this area be equipped with additional academic background of economics and political science.
