Thirty Years of Interjurisdictional Competition during in China

Abstract

Abstract: This paper offers a systematic discussion of the characters and consequences of interjurisdictional competitions in China since the start of reform and openness with a review of relevant literature.The authors claim that while interjurisdictional competition contributes to economic growth,it has also induced various negative consequences.Cases in point include macroeconomic fluctuation,regional protectionism,and distortion in production of public goods.

摘要： 本文比较系统地讨论了我国改革开放以来地方政府竞争的性质及其后果,并总结了现有的相关研究文献的主要成果。本文认为这种地方政府竞争的确促进了经济增长,但同时也带来了诸多负面影响,比如经济波动、地方保护以及公共品供给的扭曲等。
