The Transition Paradigm and the Concept of Democratic Consolidation

Abstract

Abstract: The democratic transition in the globe area promoted the research of comparative politics.But,in face of series of social and economic problems,democratic regimes drops into the reality of instability and regression of authoritarianism,the consolidation of new democratic regimes has become the focus of international political science.However,the concept of democratic consolidation becomes the most difficult issue in the research of democratic consolidation.This paper lists and analyses some important concepts of democratic consolidation,and shows the importance and respect of the concept of democratic consolidation in research.

摘要： 20世纪后期全球范围内的政治转型推动了比较政治研究的深化。随着大量新生的民主国家面临一系列的社会经济问题,民主陷入了不稳定甚至倒退的现实,民主化研究也从最初的"转型学"开始向"巩固学"转变,民主巩固问题成为国际政治学界讨论的热点,学者们对什么是民主巩固、民主巩固的前提和条件、民主巩固的测量等问题予以了极大的关注。但是,民主巩固研究中最具有争议的是民主巩固的概念,对民主巩固的理解差异之大以致有学者否定民主巩固这一概念。本文对此进行了梳理和分析,指出民主巩固概念在民主转型研究中的学术价值及其不足。
