论现代新儒学与后现代主义

Abstract: This is a comparative study of the new Confucian school of modern times and the school of post modernism.The author holds that the former attempts to set up values of life to enable man to live in peace by inspiring benevolence with modern interpretations and establishing modern epistemology. The latter , on the other hand, arguesfrom the antiessence and antibasis point of view that man can never expect to settle down in peace. Sour cesoft hese differences bear remar kable characters of the time when they emerged and the ethical backgr ound from whicht hey have sprung up. The logic of Western cultur elies in a change from freedom to nihility, while the Chinese philosophy treasures a path towards acknowledgement of the human world. Similarities between the two canbe foundout in their claims of harmony between man and the world from the latter, and man being an integral part of naturefrom the former . They both criticize the negative effect of modernness, too. However, these similarities are farfrom enough to prove that the 21st century will be dominated by the Chinese culture. The Chinese philosophy stillfaces along way of maturity with the task of moder nizing its values and, meanwhile, maintaining the good qualit iesof the Chinese nation.

摘要: 本文对现代新儒学与后现代主义作了比较探析,认为:前者试图通过显发仁心与仁性的现代意义及建构以主客对置为基本特质的现代认识论,为人类确立足以安身立命的价值之源,后者从反本质主义和反基础主义出发,强调不存在永恒的精神家园,人只能永远流浪而四海为家;这些差异的形成既有时代性原因,又有民族性背景,即西方文化的理论逻辑是从自由到虚无,中国哲学则是通过内在超越的路向充分肯定现实人生世界的终极意义;后现代主义在弃置镜式哲学时寻求人与世界和谐的理论意向与现代新儒学“天人合一”的理论归趋具有某种契合,二者对现代性负面效应的批判也保持了价值取向的一致性;二者的相似性并不足以表明21世纪将是中国文化的世纪,中国哲学仍然任重而道远,一方面必须真正完成价值系统的现代转换,另一方面又要充分体现中国哲学优良的民族特质。
