Abstract: In the course of building a community with a shared future with neighboring countries, the introduction of regional policy in Chinas neighborhood diplomacy has given rise to a gradually forming policy system for China's neighborhood diplomacy spanning the macro, meso, and micro levels. Regional policy has been able to emerge because of the overall requirements of building a community with a shared future with neighboring countries, the projection of geopolitical change at the regional level, and a favorable environment for regional interaction. The introduction and implementation of regional policy reflect a transformation in the ideas and practices of neighborhood diplomacy, display the new neighborhooddiplomacy vision of “a shared future”, embody a more proactive and enterprising diplomatic style and, in practice, coordinate development and security and actively explore a new model of state interaction driven by the dual engine of “economy plus security”. The implementation of regional policy has opened up new prospects for friendly cooperation between China and its neighbors and has laid a solid regional foundation for building a community with a shared future with neighboring countries.
