Abstract: “Governance by the Communist Party of China” is a signature concept that serves as the key to understanding why the Communist Party of China possesses such formidable capacity for party governance. The concept originates in the great practice of the Partys leadership of China's revolution, construction, reform, and the new era; it is rooted in the governing wisdom of Chinas fine traditional culture; it absorbs and draws upon the useful achievements of humanitys theories of governance; and it has taken shape amid the vivid practice of exercising full and rigorous selfgovernance over the Party in the new era, giving it deep theoretical origins and a solid practical foundation. As a system of meaning, the concept is composed of such elements as the subject, object, content, method, and effectiveness of governance, and in its creation, it exhibits the distinct features of independent originality, systemic integration, overall generalization, and diversity of discursive resources. It helps deepen the understanding of the miracle of party governance by which “governance by the Communist Party of China” guides “Chinas governance”, and provides a conceptual exemplar of signature significance for constructing the independent knowledge system of the discipline of CPC history and Party building.
