Abstract: The “algorithm revolution” is not only a revolution in productivity, but also a revolution in production relations, and the two have a dialectical unity. In order to adapt to the new requirements of technological progress marked by the “algorithmic revolution”, contemporary capitalist production relations have undergone some new changes and developed capitalism has further evolved into digital imperialism. Digital imperialism is a new stage and a new form of imperialism, which has not changed the essence of the capitalist economic system, but has brought about new development of various contradictions inherent in capitalism. Digital imperialism has led to the alienation of digital labor through the monopoly of digital production, expanding the exploitation of global workers. It has also created more unequal global exchange brought by the digital hegemony built on international platform monopolies. The repartitioning of global wealth under algorithmic rules has created a digital divide in terms of distribution and exacerbated the imbalance between developed and developing countries. Finally, the use of dependence mechanisms concerning digital consumption has amplified the digital discrimination in terms of consumption with more exploitation extending to the sphere of global consumption.
