Abstract: Since the implementation of the reform and open-up policies researches on farmers’ cooperative economic organization have been prosperous and adopted various approaches.Among the theoretical researches are both historical reflection on what had happened in China and references to theoretical and practical studies abroad.On the basis of these studies,a general framework of Chinese farmers’ cooperative economic organization is restructured.Empirical researches,on the other hand,have extended from case studies and regional studies to holistic studies.Though there has already appeared a tendency of integration,the two approaches are still in most cases used separately.The need for further integration is at hand.
