Abstract: Since the drastic social changes taken place in Soviet Union and Eastern Europe,studies of Marxism abroad experienced a period of decline.At the turn of the new century,however,this situation began to change. Marxist studies have revived.Various schools of Marxist studies become active, more international conferences are held,and publication of works and journals in this research area is increasing.People are concerned with the heritage of Marx and Engels and more foreign scholars come to China for academic communication.With the new heat in Marxist studies,two characteristics become obvious.One is the fact that the climate of "flowers of every kind are in bloom,and a hundred of schools of thought contend"has been established;the other is the tendency that Marxism is studied as a cultural entity.Nevertheless,the author maintains that generally speaking,Marxist studies abroad has not reached a normal and healthy state yet.
