Abstract: This article focuses on studies of the quality of a citizen and the quality of Chinese people. It discusses the quality of the Chinese people in five respects, namely, quality of health, quality of intelligence, quality of psychology (personality), quality of ethics, and quality of role. The author emphasizes the complex inter-relationships among them and points out that the objectives of doing research work on “quality of the people" are to work out ways to describe the high quality groups, and to summarize means of cultivating high quality citizens.
