Building a community with shared future for mankind is a scientific conclusion made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core on the basis of profoundly summarizing the characteristics, status quo and development trends of contemporary international relations, as well as Chinas status and role in the international community. It is the core value pursued by China's majorcountry diplomacy with Chinese characteristics. From the perspective of international relations, the vision of building a community with shared future for mankind is centered on the ideas of “community”, “security” and “global governance”. Specifically, the idea of community is the foundation, which reflects the general goal of building a community with shared future for mankind, and the pursuit of a harmonious and stable international order in the absence of central authority. The ideas of security and global governance are the two core pillars of the concept, and they respectively emphasize the prevention of common losses and the acquisition of mutual benefits with nations could go in the same direction. The vision of building a community with shared future for mankind is an important contribution and innovation of China to the theory of international relations. It provides people with a new way of understanding world politics, and can become a development concept and model shared by all countries in the world.

As a tendency in social progress, globalization has experienced three different historical forms, that is,globalization as communication for survival purposes, globalization for expansion of the capital, and globalization in amalgamation of cultures. The authors point out that globalization does not mean capitalization, while expansion of the capital is but one of its forms. In the era of the new globalization, the developed and developing countries have to coordinate and make active and positive use of the favorite conditions and opportunities for development as well as channels for communication to strive for mutual benefits and harmonious coexistence. This is the way to promote further development and progress of human society.
