Abstract: On the debate of essence of ideological and political education some scholars put forward revealing the essence of ideological and political education from the point of view of value, which is of strong inspiring value. But we should also further focus on the core values of education and draw the conclusion clearly that the essence of ideological and political education is the education of the core values. This conclusion has inherited the mainstream view about the nature of ideological and political education in academic circles for a long time and reflects the characteristics of the new era. It has not only the theoretical significance, but also targets the reality.

摘要： 在关于思想政治教育本质的争论中，有学者提出应从价值观及其教育的角度去揭示思想政治教育的本质，具有很强的启发性。但仅仅将思想政治教育的本质归结为价值观教育还不够，还应进一步聚焦于核心价值观教育，并得出思想政治教育的本质就是核心价值观教育的明确结论。这一结论继承了长期以来学界关于思想政治教育本质的主流观点，并体现了新的时代特征，既具有理论的解释力，又具有现实的针对性。
