New Development in the Study of International Institutions:A Literature Review on Institutional Effectiveness

Abstract

Abstract: Effectiveness of international institutions is a fundamental theme in the study of international institutions.It is an essential theory of global governance.As the meaning of effectiveness is rather complicated,it is necessary to clarify the concepts related to the effectiveness of international institutions.The study of institutional effectiveness includes classifications,evaluation criteria and affective factors.Now it is challenged by epistemology and methodology,and is trapped in the dilemma of theory and reality.The paper presents a brief discussion of the future research tendency,and concludes that more profound researches on the effectiveness of international institutions are called on.

摘要： 国际制度有效性的研究是国际制度理论研究的一项基础性工作,也是全球治理理论的核心。由于有效性概念比较复杂,国际制度有效性的相关概念问题需要澄清。制度有效性研究涉及分类划分、评估标准、影响因素等。本文对制度有效性研究的未来趋势做了简单的展望,制度有效性的研究面临着认识论与方法论的挑战,也面临着理论与现实的困境,有效性研究还需不断的深入。
