Abstract: The author identifies four stages in the concept of economic development maintained by the Chinese Communist Party. They are as follows: the new democratic concept of development around the founding of the People’s Republic of China expressed in the document "Commen Guiding Principles"; the traditional socialist concept of development represented by the two "General Lines" between the years 1953 and 1977; the development concept of the primary stage of socialism in the name "development as the priority" raised in 1978 to 1996; scientific concept of development marked by "new industrialization" and the "human-development oriented ideas" since 1997. The progress in cognition and theories illustrates the Party’s deepening understanding of the Chinese situation and her character of developing with the time. It also reflects the complexity and hardship of the task of modernizing China.

摘要： 中国共产党经济发展观的演进自建国以来大致经历了四个阶段:建国前后以《共同纲领》为代表的新民主主义发展观;1953—1977年以两个“总路线”为代表的传统社会主义发展观;1978—1996年以“发展是硬道理”为代表的社会主义初级阶段发展观;1997年以来的以“新型工业化”和“以人为本”为代表的科学发展观。这种认识和理论的演变,既体现了中国共产党对中国国情认识的深化和与时俱进的品质,也反映出中国现代化的复杂性和艰巨性。
