Abstract: “Two integrations” demonstrate the theoretical wisdom and practical methods of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times, open up space for innovation of the modern civilization of the Chinese nation, and break through the spatial pattern framed by the modern civilization of the West. In practice, the “two integrations” contain the overall vision of the organic unity of the diachronic process and the synchronic structure, place the value positioning of the space for innovation of the modern civilization of the Chinese nation within a larger context, and determine the historical orientation and construction strategy of the space for innovation based on cultural space. In specific,the space for innovation is presented as a social complex of agglomeration and fusion in the integration of the beneficial resources of the space for innovation with the construction of its basic structure through the production and exchange of cultural space. For the diversified resources of civilization involved in the production and exchange of cultural space, the “two integrations” adopt the inclusive mechanism of harmonious coexistence of multiple civilizations, and adhere to the methodological principles of unifying regularity and purposefulness and unifying endogenous development and external extension, in order to inject the momentum of continuous construction and sustainable development into the space for innovation.
