Abstract: To understand the profound connotation of “the right path of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times”, we should first acknowledge Marxism as a scientific system of thought that equips us with a scientific worldview and methodology, which constitutes the theoretical foundation of “the right path of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times”. It is a reasonable innovation based on “upholding fundamental principles and breaking new ground”. Marxism that has been adapted to the Chinese context and the needs of our times is a theoretical innovation of Marxism based on the concept of “spacetime”, and the development of its historical social practices is the realistic foundation that explains why “adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times” is “the right path”. The reason why “adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times” works is inseparable from the “competence” of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The leadership of the CPC is the fundamental reason why Marxism is able to be adapted to the Chinese context and the needs of our times, and it is also the main force that drives the social development. Only by relying on the leadership of the CPC can Marxism that has been adapted to the Chinese context and the needs of our times fully demonstrate its theoretical energy of “explaining the world” and “changing the world”.
