Abstract: In the new century scientific socialism is offered a good opportunity but at the same time meets with severe challenges in both theoretical studies and curriculum development.The new era may be the best period for development of scientific socialism,but it also poses the hardest obstacles to it.To seize the opportunity and meet the challenge,sufficient emphases should be placed on the theoretical studies of scientific socialism.In addition,curriculum development of scientific socialism and international communist movement should be strengthened.We must cultivate researchers who are faithful to socialism,have acquired a solid academic foundation,and can maintain honesty and integrity.We should also promote international communication in order to enhance the international influence of our studies on socialism characteristic of the Chinese style.
