摘要： 西方国际关系理论目前学说林立、流派纷呈的繁茂态势很大程度上得益于它对其他学科方法和思想的吸收和借鉴。著名社会学家埃利亚斯的文明进程的思想核心旨在揭示社会对暴力的内部限制,个人自我控制的内在约束,对残忍、伤害和苦难的公共态度的变化,以及不同社会成员之间的情感认同水平等。将之引入与国际关系研究相结合,不仅能够扩充国际关系英国学派对礼仪思想和文明进程的分析,还能够拓展国家体系的社会学研究的新领域,同时也对文明进程的社会学研究自身的发展创造条件。文明进程的社会学为社会学和国际关系学之间搭建新的桥梁提供了十分有价值的资源。

Abstract: The prosperity of studies on international relations has benefited from,to a large degree,absorbabilities and references to ideas and approaches of other disciplines.The essential idea of "civilizing process" of Elias,the well-known sociologist,lies in explaining the internal constraints of a society to violence,internal factors such as self-discipline of individuals,changes in public opinions towards cruelty,harm,and suffering,and the levels of emotional identification with other members of societies.Introduction of Elias’ idea to studies of international relations may expand the analysis on civility and the civilizing process by the British School of international relations,and lead to new research areas in sociology of states-systems.Meanwhile,it can also promote progress in the study on sociology of the civilizing process.The author concludes that the studies on the sociology of the civilizing process offer valuable resources that build new bridges between sociology and international relations.
