Abstract: This article tries to analyze the conflicts of promotion and reversion confronting the developing countries in the course of modernization. It explains that reversion is not the same with setbacks, for it is against the trend of modernization. The author points out that special attention should be paid to the following types of reversion: reversion of development of market economy, reversion of evolution logic of production and consumption, reversion of industrialization promotion and reversion of brain drain. Measures of preventing reversion are also suggested. They are: fostering spirit of industry and commerce, and setting up and perfect laws on market economy; reinforcing education of persistent hardworking, and controlling expansion of consumption; balancing development of industry with that of agriculture, and promoting agriculture; preventing brain drain and promoting positive talent flow.
