摘要： 本文认为,在西方经济学的历史上,曾经存在过三本具有里程碑意义的教科书,即穆勒的《政治经济学原理》、马歇尔的《经济学原理》和萨缪尔森的《经济学》;斯蒂格利茨的《经济学》则推翻了以萨缪尔森为代表的新古典综合派的体系,成为西方经济学的新思潮;对该书进行评析,有助于我国读者洞悉西方经济学的新论点,了解西方经济运行中出现的新现象和新问题。

Abstract: Throughout the history of western economics three textbooks have been considered milestones.They are PRINCIPLES OF POLITICAL ECONOMICS by Mill,PRINCIPLES OF ECONOMICS by Marshall,and ECONOMICS by Samuelson.Samuelson was representative of the new classical synthetic school.However,his system was overturned by ECONOMICS written by Stiglitz who in turn started a new trend of thoughts.This book will help us gain insights into the nwe ideas,new phenomena and new themes in western economics.
