Abstract: Since Simon put forward the theory of limited rationality, it has witnessed a wide and farreaching impact of the theory of bounded rationality in the study of social sciences and behavioral sciences. In Western political science, the model of bounded rationality is applied and developed by a large number of applied researches, which mainly focus on political behaviors at the microlevel, the political organizations and institutions at the mesolevel, and the policy changes and diffusions at the macrolevel. As a whole, a unified theoretical system, based on the model of the individual bounded rational behavior, is looming to expound the mechanisms behind the political phenomenon and to explain the running principles of the political system.
