The trilogy of peaceful evolution in some former socialist countries. including USSR, is as follows: First, the antagonists mess up ideology in the name of democracy. Then they take over the power, and finally restorecapitalist economic system. In the case of the soviet Union the major causes are both external and internal:peaceful evolution strategies carried out by the West, and problems arisen from inside the Party. The natureof the Party was then gradually changed by a humane democratic socialist ideology started around the middleof 1980s. resulting in the Party’s giving up basic principles of socialism, and altering the correct direction ofreform. All this restrained social progress and finally led to the disintegration of the Soviet Communist Partyas well as the Soviet Union.
