    On the Relations between Domestic Politics and Alliance——from the Perspectives of Regime Changes,Regime Types and Military Interest Groups

    The author observes that regime changes,regime types and military interest groups that are closely related to the regime may influence alliance policy.Upon a regime change,the survival,security and legitimacy of the regime becomes the priority of the rulers,and alliance is one of the efficient means to satisfy this needs.These two are of interactive relation.Creditability of alliance commitment is affected by the cost of alliance commitment,and different regime types provide different anticipations for the creditability of alliance commitment.Military interest groups are able to provide the precise military situation of the home state,the ally and the rival along with a comparison of their military configuration.Thus,the military interest groups play a crucial and indispensable role in policy-making concerning alliance through internal and external gaming and trading-off.

    The traditional alliance theory about the base of alliance which common security interests because of facing the common threats is being challenged.This kind of challenge comes from the more extensive influences of economy and international regime in international relationships.For the traditional base of alliance,the affects of international regime and economical level’s anxiety and threat are not only challenge but also cultivate,which make intensification and complication of it.
