In the era of information man is faced with new opportunities and new challenges. Along with these come new forms of human development and human catabolism. This article attempts to explain the connotation of informational catabolism, analyze the phenomenon, and discuss its basic nature. The author suggests that in order to develop the useful and discard the useless against the information catabolism, it is critical to handle relationship between man and information by maintaining man’s superiority in the progress of information society and during the process of scientific and technological development as well.
