The Individual Value of Patriotism Education

The research on the individual value of patriotism education aims at eliminating peoples misunderstanding of patriotism education and strengthening patriotism education in the new era. To clarify the individual value of patriotism education from three dimensions of starting point, process and evaluation is helpful to confirm the rationality of patriotic education, improve the effectiveness of patriotic education, and highlight the human nature of patriotic education. Patriotism education promotes individual growth and development from four aspects: sublimation of emotional realm, construction of identity, shaping of values and guidance of growth and practice through emotion, reason, teaching and guidance. To realize the individual value of patriotism education, we should stimulate the demand side to enhance the internal drive of individuals, and reform the supply side to enhance the pertinence of patriotic education.
