Jameson is a leading figure of capitalism in its advanced period.The publication of his work "Unitary Modernity" marked his involvement in the debate of modernity.He insisted in his judgment of the social-cultural character of capitalist soiety in its advanced period,and strongly criticized modernity and modernism in terms of ideology.He held that the "rejuvenation of modernity" is an idological myth of capitalism in its advannced period.
