The author explains that in the period of the Chinese Republic, socialization of science has experienced three peaks when scientific ideas were applied to enlightening the general public, reform the society, and revitalize China. The three peaks are: the scientific movement in the May 4 th Movement, the movement of advocating science in the 1920s and 1930s in the midst of anti-Japanese war, and the movement of promoting natural science in Yan’an during the anti-Japanese war. The historical course of socialization of science can be divided into three stages as follows: renewal of the cultural and psychological structure of the populace with scientific concepts, exploration of socialization of science and spread of science in the society, and the popular and revolutionary enlightenment.
