"An Introduction to Modern Chinese History" is a new course without much practical experience. Based on the actual teaching practice and supporting theories the paper offers ideas that may help improve the teaching effect of that couse. These ideas are as follows: cultivating problem awareness of the teachers and students alike so as to promote interaction in class,interpreting contents of related couses to define the focus of this course,applying the theory of synthesized historical forces for a comprehensive and reliable analysis of the course contents,and enriching the means of teaching by using the method of demonstrating historical logic evidenced by detailed facts.
